Pros & Cons

  • Great culture and support. Variation with tasks that really can challenge you and make a difference.
  • As a graduate, we are afforded exposure and development not necessarily available to all across the business.
  • Flexibility, people
  • Opportunity to work in a large-scale, high tech manufacturing facility. Good access to development opportunities. Opportunity to see different sides of the business
  • The people. Managers and fellow team members are invested in my development and go out of their way to help me understand concepts and practices I am not familiar with.
  • The workload can, at times, be quite challenging to manage. Due to the fact that we work across a number of sites, across a number of continents, we do sometimes have to take late night and early morning calls as a result of the time difference.
  • A very small percentage of employees are unaware of the purpose of the program
  • Complexities of administration procedures and documentation.
  • Lots of super technical terms and can be quite daunting at first to remember everything.
  • Highly regulated industry.

Career Prospects
Graduates have a 100% retention rate at CSL. Securing an ongoing full-time role after the graduate program is not guaranteed however we have had 100% of grads transition into ongoing roles. Promotion and career progression come with experience and I am not yet familiar with the way it works at CSL.

Nice location, but due to the age of facility some offices are not as nice as others. Dress code is normally business-casual to neat-casual.

The questions were largely related to how my past experiences demonstrated me living the cultural values of the business in addition to a few questions that gauged my interest in the business and the wider industry.

I'm quite impressed with the pay especially considering I'm still at the graduate level. The bonuses that come after the graduate program are also quite impressive and satisfying to me.

Training
Multiple training modules about the company, its code of conduct, processes and safety measures etc. Within my team, I was eased into my role and was given the right number of modules to ensure I was up to speed with the knowledge and can take on responsibilities relevant to my role. I've also learnt a great deal of technical information, especially with the instruments and equipment that we have in our facilities.

Work Hours
Work hours are generally 9-5 Mon-Fri. Very flexible as there are a lot of after-hours meetings due to my company being global.

All processes are checked from the environmental group to reduce emissions as much as possible and the new constructions all find new innovative ways to deal with by-products such as wetlands for an abundance of water.
