Diversity at Fulton Hogan

8.3
8.3 rating for Diversity, based on 30 reviews
Please provide further information on diversity with respect to women, ethnic minorities and LGBT. Please comment on issues such as recruitment, retention, promotion, child care, maternity leave, etc.
I think me working in the company could be taken as an example of diversity as I am of Indian ethnicity. I think the diversity and culture is the main reason for the success of Fulton Hogan.

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I have found it very welcoming and have had no issues within the workplace. I have found that the office has a range of different genders and backgrounds and have not seen any issues within the workplace.

My workplace has awesome intentions with diversity but currently there is still a huge gender gap in terms of male and female employment.

Great diversity.

Me being an international woman myself, I am extremely satisfied with the company's diversity and respect for women. Always ready to celebrate the diverse cultures and never had any issues with it at all.

Retention of minorities in construction needs improvement.

There are some diversity programs and events but I believe there is also room for improvement. My graduate group have actually based our project around making an inclusivity program for the company to improve on this area.

The company is extremely diverse, this can be seen through the many different people and their respective backgrounds. There are people from all over the world, and their cultures are accepted. Women are highly regarded, with many women in senior positions which is great to see. Maternity leave is given to women to be able to raise their children throughout the first few months of their life. From speaking to many women retention is high within FH, with some being part of the company for 5-10+ years. This can be directly correlated to career progression and promotion.

I believe there are some initiatives towards getting more women & ethnic minorities & and Indigenous peoples. Not too familiar with childcare/maternity yet as I don't think this will affect me for a while.

No issues seen.

Due to the industry diversity can be a challenge, but I have met a variety of diverse people during my time with the company and that has been very reassuring of the company values. I have found that the company will help with the balance for new parents to help them spend valuable time with their kids.

No issues with the project I have been working on.

Not much gender or sexual orientation acknowledgement (which is not needed - given its irrelevance) but it is very good with all cultures.

I appreciate the company making wide efforts to increase diversity, however obviously in construction this is challenging. There seem to be plenty of initiatives trying to push this, which is great. Unsure about others.

What does your company do to attract applicants from less privileged backgrounds?
I think FH have really taken a step to encourage more indigenous community through the CLONTARF foundation which is mind blowing and also tie ups with the Black Dog institute has helped develop FH's reputations around the less privileged communities.

There are awesome initiatives and policies in place to attract people of different backgrounds.

They have programs specific to applicants from less privileged backgrounds and also have programs that target and educate regarding the opportunities to students who can decide on their career at their earlier stage.

My company has multiculturalism, women in STEM and other campaigns to promote and attract these applicants. They also work with these people to ensure they are having equal opportunity.
Graduate, Adelaide
I think it offers a warm and welcome working environment where being from a less privileged background is irrelevant but accepted at the same time. They also can say that there are many other employees that have come from less privilege.

All positions available are published.

The company endeavours to hire diverse candidates actively looking for these types of candidates.
