Culture at Fulton Hogan

8.4
8.4 rating for Culture, based on 31 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
The culture inside the office/plant is pretty informal. It's about helping each other and succeeding as a team rather than a solo ride. I have always loved working in a team and with FH it's hit the right spot. I think the power hierarchy is fantastic as I could easily have a word with the regional manager or CEO if I would like to and the best part is they will listen as well. I think the post-work socializing could be improved not going to lie but it's not bad. I have not had a lot of socializing post work but socializing will start as we come close to Christmas due to all the Christmas parties towards the end of the year.

I have found that Fulton Hogan is very culture focused. There is a number of events that have been held in the office to bring people together which has facilitated positive workplace connections. I feel that the workplace structure makes people seem approachable and supportive, ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and supportive within their team.

My team is awesome, I feel that we are all equals and it is a great environment to work in. My friends I have met at work will be life long friends, we catch up outside of work regularly.

Company's culture is very open and transparent. Providing us with a lot of opportunities within the office and outside to socialise. Also, we have events such as volunteering, smoking ceremony for each project etc.

The culture depends on your team and management, some teams are more cooperative and social than others.

There is a clear structure and seniority hierarchy within the company. I believe this is a characteristic of a stable company. However, regardless of this, I have witnessed all colleagues socialising, discussing trivial/ significant events of their lives amongst themselves proving that there is immense trust being established and strong bonds being formed. FH's REAL values are constantly exhibited through the exemplary behaviour of the colleagues. I find myself closest to the MRPA female graduates of the 2023 intake. We have formed a very close knit relationship by organising after hour catch ups every so often. I believe this was possible due to the existing positive work culture of the company. But kindly note that this is only my personal experience. I cannot attest that every graduate has had the same experiences.

In office the culture is great, people are incredibly friendly and willing to help you in whatever way they can. Often a new site compound, office or job in general can be intimidating walking into a new environment where you dont know anyone. This is normal. But introducing yourself to new people is pivotal to building a good workplace culture. In office people work hard, but there is also a big regard for creating a friendly, warm, workplace where everyone works in one room (mainly) meaning cross collaboration, teamwork and conversations occur. Teamwork happens every day, I speak and work closely with Engineers regarding works happening and enviro controls needed for example. Out of office, I have been on numerous grad drinks which have been a great way to get to know people and talk about life and things happening outside of work. I had the SPS (Sewer Pump Station ) project launch which was followed by food and drinks, this was great to socialise with colleagues who are older than me, creating that professional relationship

Overall the companies culture is very good in office and after hours. We are constantly encouraged through different social and work tasks to build our culture. Although would be great to see more women in our industry.

So far with the multiple rotations, I find the work culture to be very friendly. A bit of fun and a bit of work keeps the daily work life interesting and exciting.

Culture is very inclusive and supportive - staff are always happy and friendly, and many events are put on each month for employee's to get to know each other and the business. Outside office hours could be better (NRL tickets for workers each week in Brisbane was offered and was nice but not much else). Structure is good, allows for the team to work together and achieve accurate results.

The in office culture is brilliant. Great office. Don't do any socialising and after hours stuff as the team is always working away.

When working together in a team, your colleagues will support you work as a team to achieve the goals of the team. This is extends from the managers down to the student engineers. Outside of work, we endeavour to catch up as a team once a month over a meal and some drinks to build and strengthen the relationships of the workplace.
