Treasury fosters a culture of inclusion and respect and is committed to ensuring Treasury’s workplace is fair, safe, and supportive of all people.

A Treasury workforce that reflects the diversity of Australians leads to better outcomes for all”

We’re committed to making sure our workplace is fair, safe, and supportive of all people regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or intersex status.

We have an amazing Pride@Treasury (Pride@TSY) employee network. Pride@TSY aim’ is to continue to make Treasury a more inclusive workplace, where employees feel comfortable to bring their whole selves to work. They regularly organise events, hold informal coffee catch-ups, have a regular newsletter, update department resources and training to help staff understand more about the LGBTIQ+ community and become better allies. They are also instrumental in our Pride@TSY ActionPlan, Gender Affirmation Guidelines and Departmental policy consultation.

Throughout the year Pride@TSY hold events to mark the following significant days:

  • IDAHOBIT (17 May) - The international day against homophobia, biphobia, interphobia and transphobia.
  • Wear it Purple Day (Last Friday in August) - A day to wear a splash of purple to show support for at risk LGBTIQ+ youth.
  • Yes Day (15 November) - Yes Day celebrates the anniversary of the 2017 Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey, in which Australia voted to give same-sex couples the right to marry.
