When do we hire graduates at Rheinmetall?

At Rheinmetall we hire and onboard graduates throughout the entire calendar year.  We don’t limit our annual intake to only once or twice!  Our graduate programs set you up for success, offering exciting and hands-on real life experience across many of our corporate disciplines including engineering, finance, IT, legal & commercial and human resources.

The recruitment process

The recruitment process at Rheinmetall consists of the following stages as highlighted in the above image:

  1. Application submission
  2. Application check
  3. Review by department
  4. Pre-screening interview
  5. Personal Interview
  6. Pre-employment screening
  7. Offer
  8. Onboarding

The recruitment process for our Graduate Program may also include gamification and/or assessment centres where we aim to make activities engaging, fun and a learning experience. 

During the interview process try to relax but be professional. Show us your genuine passion for doing your chosen career and your commitment to the process.  Research and be prepared and enjoy the experience and learning journey ahead of you.

The application: 

  • Note that your CV should be a Word document with application work experience or volunteer experience listed in date order.
  • Don’t only mention education, but also your GPA information or any other Dean recommendations or outstanding achievements while either in high school or at university.
  • Ensure your CV is neatly formatted and that it has been spellchecked.
  • Ensure your mobile number and email address are correct and you have made mentioned of the suburb or location you live in.

Interview:

  • Arrive only 5 or 10 minutes early not any earlier. If you are going to be late, please let the interviewer know.
  • Please dress appropriately (i.e. no hoodies, thongs, shorts etc).
  • Be polite and show enthusiasm in the company and the vacancy you have applied.
  • Have pre-prepared or considered answers relating to your suitability to the role, your personal characteristics, value-adds and strengths.
  • Please don’t check or answer your phone during an interview.
  • Be careful when chewing gum during an interview, it can be distracting.
  • If you are nervous, please advise the interviewer you are nervous and give yourself time to calm down and take a breath.

After the interview:

  • Send an email thanking the interviewer for their time.
  • Please don’t harass the interviewer for immediate feedback.  The courteous time frame to call and follow-up is 3-5 days, depending on the urgency of the vacancy.
  • If you are no longer interested in the role, or have found alternate employment, please let the interviewer know.
