The West Gate Tunnel Project is a transformative, city-shaping project that will end Melbourne’s reliance on the West Gate Bridge by building new tunnels with links to the port, CityLink and Melbourne’s CBD.

The project is multi-faceted and includes:

• Twin tunnels under Yarraville
• Four new through lanes on the West Gate Freeway
• A new bridge over the Maribyrnong River and elevated road above Footscray Road
• A 2.5km elevated veloway above Footscray Road
• 14km of new and upgraded walking and cycling paths
• 9 hectares of new parks and wetlands

In the 2024 Victoria's Big Build Graduate Programs, WGTP will host graduates in the following disciplines:

• Civil Engineering
• Communications
• Legal

Over a 2-year program, you'll undertake:

• rotations in a range of business contexts (depending on your discipline and project team)
• a structured learning and development program involving a range of professional and personal development workshops, site visits, project work, mentoring and experiential learning opportunities.
• career planning to prepare you for the next step in your career.

When you join the program, you'll be employed full time at a salary of $74,580 + superannuation (effective from December 2023 – as per VPS EA 2020).

Each year, you'll be entitled to 20 days of annual leave and 15 days of personal leave.

Your workplace will depend on your ‘home’ project; however, you'll generally be located in Melbourne CBD. For those who wish, there may be an opportunity to work in regional Victoria, depending on project requirements.

On completing the program, you will be well-placed to apply for vacant positions within Victoria's Big Build or with our external partners.
