Why Leidos’ culture is so highly sought after by graduates?

We've got a high level of autonomy locally to run the business. We can look at the conditions here and adapt. We can do what we think is right for our customers and our staff for the specific location. We have graduates on our early careers council telling us what their experience is and we're after their feedback. We invest in our leaders to make sure they're engaging with their staff well and we're measuring it each year. We continually ask what's working and what's not and constantly try to tweak things and evolve.

The culture is the number one reason why people stay. It's the culture, the opportunity to learn and grow, and the flexibility. If someone wants to start and finish early or late, that's fine. We have RDO's and we've been certified as a family friendly organisation. We've got young professional advocacy groups, women and allies, LGBTQI+ (which is our pride group), advocacy for people with disabilities. We really make sure to make all our staff feel welcome and engaged. The other thing grads comment is the support. If you ask a question, you will get more responses for help than you know what to do with.

Management makes the staff feel like they're not working for anyone, but it feels more like working with others. The culture is very supportive and the position of the management is always "how can we assist you" not "what are you doing for us". The quality of work you can produce in that environment is much better. It's the kind of environment you'd want to work with. You never walk into a one-on-one meeting with management where you'll feel stressed. Plus, the ability to work in a job that also carries societal importance is a good thing to have.
