I would say I’m an intellectually curious person, so I love knowing that I can try new things, have varied and interesting work and gain exposure to a range of issues.

In my current role, I get to shape other people’s careers, I love delivering the good news that people have got the job, I feel like it really makes their day, and it makes my day,

From a non-medical perspective, I look forward to working because it is such a warming and fun environment. Everyone is supportive and can talk together about almost anything.

Sometimes it is extremely stressful, but you feel really satisfied when you can make some progress!

A hospital can be an overwhelming place, but I want to be that nurse that bathes you without making you feel humiliated, the nurse that explains your injuries or illness without frightening you, the nurse that speaks to your family and friends to reassure and comfort them. I want to be a nurse that you can depend on to look after you physically and emotionally.

Nursing is a career that allows for a lot of flexibility and movement, and there are so many different paths to take in a range of fields that enables you to experience new things but stay within the same discipline.
