About this scholarship

Background:

An opportunity is available for an outstanding Masters by Research or PhD scholar in the area of Flame Synthesis of Nanoparticles using Turbulent Spray Flames.

This research project is ultimately aimed to using flame spray pyrolysis (FSP) to synthesize a range of functional materials and nanoparticles which potentially include metal oxides, salts and metals from combustible solutions of metal-nitrates or organometallics.

Open to:

  • Applicants must have an unconditional offer of admission for full-time studies in a Masters by Research or PhD within the School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering at the University of Sydney, and be willing to undertake research in the field of Flame Synthesis of Nanoparticles using Turbulent Spray Flames.
  • Applicants must also hold a Bachelor’s degree or a Master's degree in a related field of science or engineering with a substantial research component, or equivalent. 

Value and Duration:

The Scholarship will provide an annual stipend allowance of $28,000 (fixed amount) for up to three years for PhD applicants and for up to one year for Master by Research applicants. No extension is possible.
