The course offers a holistic approach to studying organic food systems and the relationship of organics to nutrition.
You will explore the principles of organic food production and getting organic produce from the farm to the table; investigate the health and medicinal benefits of plants and animals as they relate to organic foods; and learn about the systems, laws and regulations of the organics food industry. You will have the opportunity to take a research-informed approach and develop your ability to critically evaluate scientific evidence in relation to organic food and nutrition.
Graduates will be able to apply their knowledge from this qualification across a wide range of professions, including in organics food production, in health education and practice, and in policy at different levels of government.
The Graduate Certificate in Organic Food and Nutrition also provides a pathway for further study at a Masters or Doctoral level.
To be eligible to receive the Graduate Certificate in Organic Food and Nutrition, students must complete the equivalent of 4 units (48 credit points) comprising all four core units.
