  All applicants are required to have completed at least one year of full-time equivalent study relevant to one or more learning areas of the primary school curriculum. Entrants to graduate entry programs must have a discipline-specific bachelor or equivalent qualification relevant to the Australian Curriculum or other recognised areas of schooling provision. Professional experience cannot be accepted as an alternative to completion of the bachelor degree. Applicants must satisfy non-academic criteria, in addition to satisfying academic entry criteria. Applicants' non-academic capabilities will be assessed based on completion of a Non-Academic Requirements for Teacher Entry (NARTE) online questionnaire.

  Academic admission requirements (Band 6) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

• International students must attain an IELTS Academic with an average level of 7.5 or more, across the four components of listening, speaking, reading and writing; no score below level 7.0 in any of these components; and a score of 8.0 or more in the components of speaking and listening.   Requirements from 01-JAN-2027:
  All applicants are required to complete a Bachelor of Preclinical Foundations of Imaging Science including 640 hours of clinical placement in the sonography setting with a WAM of 70.
  , with equivalents considered. Alternatively applicants can apply for the course on the basis of 5 years prior experience.

  • IELTS Academic with a minimum overall score of 7.5 (with no individual band score less than 7.0), or
  • Pearson English Test (PTE) Academic with a minimum overall score of 72 and a minimum score of 65 in each of the four communicative skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking), or
  • TOEFL iBT with a minimum total score of 102 and the following minimum score in each section of the test:
    * 24 for listening
    * 24 for reading,
    * 27 for writing, and
    * 23 for speaking

  All applicants are required to have completed their Bachelor of Laws degree or Juris Doctor from a recognised Australian University and achieved a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70 or higher. For students completing the double degree, the WAM considered would be for the Law program only. Additionally, the acceptance of a student as a Honours candidate will depend on the discipline's supervisory expertise to guide the student on the topic of interest.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate advanced skills and knowledge in a particular discipline to enrol in a major area of specialisation (eg. a Major in their bachelor degree) and intermediate skills to enrol in a minor area of specialisation (eg. a Minor in their bachelor degree), and provide a resume, In addition to satisfying academic entry criteria, applicants for pre-service teacher education courses at Edith Cowan University must also satisfy non-academic criteria.
