About this scholarship

The Asian Development Bank – Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) was established in April 1988 with financing from the Government of Japan. It aims to provide an opportunity for well-qualified citizens of ADB’s [developing member countries] to undertake postgraduate studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions in the Asian and Pacific Region. Upon completion of their study programs, scholars are expected to contribute to the economic and social development of their home countries.

To be considered for an Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship (ADB-JSP) at the Crawford School ANU, please indicate on the ANU online application form under the ‘Finance for Study’ Section that you wish to be considered for an ADB scholarship, AND include the ADB-JSP application form. Please be aware that you will be notified only if you are successful for an ADB scholarship. The ADB scholarships are extremely competitive, and only very few are awarded each year, so we strongly suggest you also consider applying for the other scholarships.

* Please note the deadline for ADB scholarship application: 15 May (to apply for 1st semester (January) the following year) and 15 December (to apply for 2nd semester (June) the following year). You must include your ADB applications with your ANU application. Applications will not be considered unless all supporting documents have been provided.
