This practical hands on course is designed for experienced engineering fabrication trade's people that require certification to Australian Standard 1796 - Certification of welders and welding supervisors.
Weld Australia requires each candidates undertake 40 hours of approved training prior to sitting the certification testing conducted by Weld Australia.
This course provides that 40 hours of approved training required prior to candidates undertaking the certification testing conducted by Weld Australia. The certification testing has additional costs which are shown below;

At the beginning of the course students will nominate a specific welding tick they are seeking certification. Our industry expert trainers will provide instruction, guidance and feedback on improving welding techniques required to meet the welding standards of AS1796.

Welding ticket 1 Manual Metal Arc welding - welding plates with rutile & general purpose electrodes
Welding ticket 2 Manual Metal Arc welding pipes with rutile & General purpose electrodes
Welding ticket 3E Manual Metal Arc welding - welding plates with low hydrogen electrodes
Welding ticket 4 Manual Metal Arc with low hydrogen electrodes welding pipes
Welding ticket 5 Gas tungsten Arc welding/ Manual Metal Arc welding on pipes
Welding ticket 6 Oxy acetylene welding pipes
Welding ticket 7 Gas tungsten arc welding on pipes
Welding ticket 8G Gas metal arc welding solid wire on plates & pipes
Welding ticket 8F Gas metal arc welding - with flux core wire on plates & pipes
Welding ticket 9 Submerged Arc Welding on plates
All materials supplied by Chisholm during the short course is mild steel 250 grade.
Students must have:
1. Current engineering fabrication experience in the welding ticket nominated at the beginning of the course
2. 150 hours of documented welding experience for students with a trade certificate or 300 hours of documented welding experience for students without trade certificate
3. Previously completed a welding ticket that has covered the theory component that is mandatory for welding tickets.
