Start a career in sterilisation services by learning the practical skills and knowledge to work in a hospital sterile supply department or theatre sterile supply unit.

The Certificate III in Sterilisation Services will teach you how to:
* Clean and disinfect re-usable medical devices and equipment
* Care for surgical instruments
* Work with infection control policies and procedures
* Work with sterile stock and equipment
* Develop effective working habits and relationships

This nationally recognised qualification may lead to employment as an instrument technician, sterilisation technician or sterilisation assistant.

Please note that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing requirements, to continue your learning journey, this program will be delivered remotely where possible.

Participants will be required to engage with learning material online and via video conferencing software rather than attend classes. Refer to our COVID-19 Online Service Standards for details of minimum technical requirements and support available. While it is expected that the course duration will remain unchanged, it may be necessary to extend the completion date if circumstances change. Chisholm will be monitoring the situation closely and inform of any changes if the duration of a course is extended.

Entry requirements

All applicants are required to complete BSKB and must obtain exit level 3 in both literacy and numeracy (working at level 4)., Please note: Students need a valid Working with Children Check (volunteer), a clear national police check and immunisations to undertake practical placement., Students will be unable to successfully complete the course without completing placement.
