The Graduate Certificate in Philosophy (Healthcare Ethics) will introduce students to a range of ethical issues touching directly on the provision of healthcare services. It is designed for people with leadership and educational roles in health and aged care.
Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Philosophy (Healthcare Ethics), an applicant must have completed an undergraduate degree in any discipline and be either:

  1. a graduate with up to three years' professional experience in business or health care (eg doctors, nurse managers, nurses, mission directors, health care administrators, psychologists, counsellors, social workers, members of ethics committees); or
  2. a healthcare professional with five or more years relevant experience; or
  3. a senior healthcare professional nominated by his or her employer to undertake the course.

The Graduate Certificate in Data Science lays the foundation for developing the knowledge and skills to design, implement and administer large-scale database solutions for organisations, while preserving data privacy and security. This is a six-month full-time (or part-time equivalent) course.

  1. Equivalent of an Australian Bachelor's degree in any discipline; or
  2. At least two years' industry experience in a relevant role.

The Foundation Studies Program provides a pathway to ACU undergraduate degrees, for international and domestic students who wish to study at university but do not have a recognised Year 12 qualification.
Entry Requirements

An applicant must also comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.

Domestic Students
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must:

  1. be 18 years or over by the census date of the first relevant study period of enrolment
  2. have not achieved an adequate Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or equivalent for entry to ACU;
  3. have not completed other eligible qualifications that meet the minimum entry requirements for entry to ACU.

International Students
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must:

  1. have completed the equivalent of year 11 (completion of senior high school in countries where this is not considered equivalent to an Australian year 12);
  2. have a minimum English language proficiency level of IELTS 5.5 with no individual band lees than 5, or equivalent. Applicants whose intended undergraduate degree requires an English proficiency level of IELTS 7 or above, must have a minimum English proficiency level of IELTS 6 with no individual band less than 6, or equivalent OR at least one full-time year of study of an Australian secondary or tertiary qualification at AQF Diploma level or higher. To meet the requirements for working in settings other than schools, a National Police Check may be required. All students who have lived in another country for 12 months or more must provide a police check from that country for that period.

To be eligible for admission to the EMBA, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline and 5 years post-graduation full time (or FTE) work experience of which at least 3 years is in a management/leadership role; OR
  • Graduate certificate in any discipline and a minimum of 5 years full time work experience of which at least 3 years is in a management/leadership role; OR
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a management/leadership role outlined in a portfolio demonstrating knowledge, experience, and skills suitable to the level required for participation in the program.
