Culture at Xero Australia

9.1
9.1 rating for Culture, based on 7 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
I am yet to meet a Xero employee that is not kind. All employees like lifting each other up and as a result it is an amazing place to learn and fins what kind of engineer you are. I have found a stack that I am very passionate about and I am enabled to pursue it.

We're encouraged to reach out to other team members for help and advice. Several engineers have been eager to mentor me. Office is quiet and comfortable. Recently there has been more office events -- while I don't go to the office often, these do make it more rewarding. Some "Xero fun events" out of hours that I don't attend, but they seem OK. Clear separation between the people on the ground vs. the executives (the executives are out of touch).

Everyone is super supportive and super nice.

The culture is good. People are very compassionate and understanding of commitments outside of work which gives me flexibility and confidence to fit in other important life things. There is some sense of teamwork and belonging in the office, but I feel this has reduced since the restructure, the office is less lively, less people there which makes me less interested in going in. Especially when only working on projects with people overseas etc. This also makes the culture a little lonely when only connecting with people remotely.
