I was motivated to apply to Viva Energy as the organisation really cares about its people. The organisation's strong and positive culture is defined by a set of core values which really resonated with me.

What tips can you share with prospective graduates going through the application or recruitment process with us?

It’s great to see graduates who are enthusiastic and passionate about commencing their careers with Viva Energy. The best piece of advice I can give to these prospective graduates is just to really be yourself and try to be as relaxed as possible throughout the recruitment process. The hiring managers are looking to see whether you will be a good fit for your role and the team, so it’s a good idea to do some research to understand more about who we are as a company and what we value in our people. I also recommend having some key examples prepared, you should be able to talk through your previous work and life experiences that have equipped you with the relevant skills and capabilities that make you a great candidate for the role.

What attracted you to apply to Viva Energy?

I applied to Viva Energy as I was excited by the prospect of working for an organisation that is leading transformation within the energy market. The business is constantly working towards Australia’s cleaner energy future, with the development of more sustainable and low-carbon products to keep all of Australia moving. When researching Viva Energy, I was really impressed by some of the innovative projects the business has planned, including the establishment of Australia’s first-ever publicly accessible hydrogen refuelling station.

In addition, I was motivated to apply to Viva Energy as the organisation really cares about its people. The organisation's strong and positive culture is defined by a set of core values which really resonated with me. Furthermore, this level of care is seen not only across the business and its employees but also extends to Viva Energy’s customers, with a strong emphasis on being ‘customer obsessed’ to deliver top value service and exceptional results.

It was apparent even from simply researching the company that this was where I wanted to commence my career as a People & Culture graduate, knowing I would be learning best practice from day one.

What do you love about your work?

I love working at Viva Energy as I am supported by such a brilliant and caring group of individuals, not only within the People & Culture team but also across the wider business. The P&C team also has a strong learning environment in which I am able to grow and develop as a graduate. I have been provided with a really diverse range of experiences and valuable learning opportunities, allowing me to enhance my knowledge, skills and capabilities over time. It has been especially great starting out in the early talent space, understanding the work that goes into a graduate program and what is required to attract high-calibre candidates. I have had the chance to assist in facilitating assessment centres, developing campaign content for online platforms and researching key engagement opportunities for the business. I look forward to the many more exciting projects and experiences I will have within the P&C team.
