From day one, my manager has also been incredibly supportive, expressing confidence in my abilities and decision-making, even as a graduate working in a corporate environment for the very first time

What team do you work in and what are they responsible for?

I work in the Retail Pricing Team, which is responsible for fuel pricing at all Coles Express sites across Australia. Our team plays a crucial role in ensuring that our fuel prices are competitive and aligned with the market, contributing to the business’s overall market share growth. Within the team, I work closely with our Pricing Analysts. We analyse retail data to extract valuable insights to share with our Pricing Specialists, which aid in developing and refining dynamic pricing strategies.

What tips can you share with prospective graduates going through the application or recruitment process with us?

As a recent graduate, I would suggest to focus on tailoring your application to showcase transferable skills you have gained through internships, projects, or part-time jobs. Highlight how these experiences have equipped you with the skillset needed to excel in the specific role or team you’re applying for.

I also recommend preparing some insightful questions about the company, team, and role at the interview stage. This demonstrates your interest and enthusiasm for the position, and will help you get an idea of what the company culture is like.

Keep in mind that the application and recruitment process is a two-way street. While the company is assessing your fit, you're also evaluating whether the organization aligns with your career goals and values. Try your best to approach the process with confidence, authenticity, and a genuine desire to contribute to the team's success.
