Jonty O’Hara

7.30AM 

I wake up and have my coffee. I rush to get dressed and ready and then I’m out the door by 8:30.

8.30 AM

I walk to the train station then ride one stop to Southern Cross Station.

8.50 AM

I arrive in the office and get set up for the day.

9:00 AM

After saying hello to my colleagues in the office, I check my to-do list, emails and calendar for the day, I then gather my notes and prepare for any upcoming meeting or deadlines. 

10:00 AM 

Every day is completely different. It can be back to back meetings or time for me to work on the different projects and action items I am involved with.

12.00 PM

Time for lunch! I usually bring my own lunch and eat in the kitchen upstairs, or if it is a nice day, I will meet a friend in the park downstairs. Occasionally, we go out for team lunches which is a nice way to catch up outside of the office. It is great to be in the office because I meet people from different areas of the business, everyone at Viva is very welcoming and interested.

1.00 PM 

This is a popular meeting time slot. Whether in person, or online these meetings range from project updates, weekly team meetings, event planning, or catch-ups with my manager. It is very exciting and meetings are great for collaboration across the business. 

3.00 PM

Time for an afternoon snack or tea. I usually need a pick-me-up at this time so I go upstairs to the snack cupboard (gold coin donation supports the Social Club) for a chocolate or fun drink.

3.05 PM 

Time to get everything done for the day. I usually like to put in headphones at this time and really focus on what I need to do. Whether it be sending off emails, finalising spreadsheets or creating marketing content and presentations, I like to really focus during this time. 

5.00 pm 

I like to check my calendar for tomorrow and make sure I don’t have any outstanding emails or tasks required.

5.00 – 7.00 PM

I am a part of the social club and often we have fun events planned. I went to an Oktoberfest celebration with other social club members which was so fun! There was good food and live music. It is an amazing chance to spend time with colleagues outside of the office and get to know them on a personal level. It is also a great opportunity to meet new people.

7.00 PM

I return home and usually spend time with my housemates or other friends. This can be watching TV together or just chatting – I think it is important to maintain social connections whilst working full time.

9.00 – 10.30 PM 

I get ready for bed and usually fall asleep by 11:00pm.
