As apart of the graduate program, we have 4 x 6 month rotations through various teams in the business that relate to our area of study/expertise. Being a P&C grad I have gone through performance & reward, people services and now in an elective for stakeholder engagement. Each team provides a different experience but has been thoroughly enriching.

No two days are the same. From Monday - Friday I can be found engaging with consultants, facilitating innovation and sustainability workshops, learning about the numbers that support our projects, or donning a hard-hat and boots on site.

Over the graduate program your roles will change with each position. However, in every team, you are treated as a valuable member and given large amounts of responsiblity, and not just a person to get coffees.

Helping the broader team across a lot of different work streams. While some of the work can seem a bit administrative at times, you do also get involved in some interesting projects that test your knowledge, meet new people and create great outcomes for the business.

I work in the data engineering team. As this is a new field for me, the team has been very understanding and assessing my skills, they have been assigning me tasks that are just on the edge of my current skills, so I can be confident doing them and learn something new at the same time. We have two-week sprints. The senior members and the manager of my team take great care in assigning me tasks that would help me learn and grow. Throughout the process, they are always available to help me whenever I ask for their help. At present, I mostly do BAU and platform improvement work. The senior members have been assigning me some tasks relating to Data, which I requested them in my 1-1 sessions with my manager.

You find yourself constantly chasing work to do, with little check in from managers. Day to day is often lots of small tasks
