Apply now to the  2020 NSW Government Graduate Program

This 18-month Program is open to high-performing graduates from all disciplines. The Program offers three rotations across different agencies, providing you with exposure to a range of projects and work in digital policy and development.

When you successfully complete the Program, you are offered ongoing (permanent) employment at the Clerk Grade 3/4 (2nd year). Exceptional performers may be potentially fast-tracked to the Clerk Grade 5/6 or 7/8 level.*

Graduates receive a competitive remuneration package of approximately $80,275 which includes a salary ($72,418), employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

  • Have you completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the last two years (from June 2017 onwards) or will you complete your degree by December 2019?
  • Are you:
    • An Australian citizen
    • A permanent resident of Australia
    • A New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand passport
    • A holder of a current visa that allows you to work full-time in Australia until at least August 2021?
  • You are able to commence work on 10 February 2020.

To get started, fill in the online application form - this will capture all the information we need including your experience and qualifications (no attachments are required).

The following questions must be answered as a part of your application – please use examples from your work, education and life experiences.

  • Please describe how you have demonstrated the NSW Public Sector values in your work or studies. In your response, please outline how your previous experience demonstrates your suitability for the graduate program.
  • Describe a time when you responded to a situation where a colleague or fellow student was not abiding by relevant rules, policies, procedures or codes of conduct. What actions did you take?

A helpful hint is to type your responses in a Word document and then paste it into the online application form. Each response is limited to 300 words. Read through the Graduate Program website for more information about the full application process, as well as the Graduate Role Description.
