Eleni Knapp

Being able to work on so many interesting projects, across a range of industries, is what makes Kearney such a great place to work.

6.30 AM

Wake up early so I can go for a cycle before work. I am training for a triathlon next month, so need to practice my cycling as much as possible before race day! Make it home an hour later, have a quick shower, eat breakfast and get ready before travelling to the office. My client is still working from home, so our team is alternating days that we work from home and work from the office - today is an office day!

9.00 AM

My days typically start with ~90min of various team stand-ups and touchpoints. Our project is focusing on delivering $20M in savings to an Australian telco by reducing their costs with suppliers. This means our project has lots of different pieces of work running and lots of meetings with our client's vendors. It is important we all touch base constantly so we can share findings and the leadership team can be across all of our initiatives. Luckily last night I wrote down my streams priorities, impediments and meetings for the day so I was able to make good use of these sessions

10.30 AM

My first client meeting of the day is with a stakeholder and one of their vendors. Here the vendor presented a potential way could save money with them.

11.00 AM

I then turn my attention to creating some slides and cleaning up some excel analysis for a meeting with a senior client stakeholder that is happening the following day. He had a few follow-up questions on an initiative I am leading, so we are meeting with him to seek his endorsement and gather input from him. My team and a few other teams in the office pause for a quick lunch together.

1.00 PM

The whole team then meetings for our weekly Worksmart meeting. Here we discuss the week that passed from a professional and personal point of view. This is the meeting where you raise any issues about work-life balance, team structure, apprenticeship, etc and the team works to overcome any challenges.

1.30 PM

My second client meeting of the day comes along where we meet with another vendor. Here we brainstorm potential ways the client can save money from the vendor and an opportunity is identified if our client registers more potential deals with the vendor.

2.00 PM

I then can focus on preparing a few slides for our upcoming Steering Committee meeting. These slides provide an overview of the work that I am doing in my stream. They will be reviewed by the leadership team in a meeting later today and I will have to make final edits before the pack can be sent off to the client for a pre-read.

4.30 PM

Few more client meetings and internal team meetings where we discuss the Steering Committee document. Final edits are made and my slides are sent off to the leadership team

7.00 PM

Head to the pub for a few drinks with some friends!
