Su-Yin

This has been a great avenue to make a contribution back to DFAT and support a workplace that values and celebrates diversity and inclusion.

Since joining DFAT as a graduate in 2021, Su-Yin has worked on priority policy issues and experienced DFAT’s crisis response efforts first-hand.

“My first rotation was within DFAT’s Consular and Crisis Management Division, where I supported facilitated flights for returning Australians during the COVID-19 pandemic and Australia’s consular response to the situation in Afghanistan,” she said.

“Leveraging my previous advocacy experience, I’ve since worked on arms control policy and helped co-ordinate Australia’s position on nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation.”

Improving workplace culture is something Su-Yin is passionate about and during the graduate program, she has been involved in DFAT’s Social Club and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Network.

“This has been a great avenue to make a contribution back to DFAT and support a workplace that values and celebrates diversity and inclusion.”
