Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) Graduate Stories

I’ve learned so much in a short time. I feel content knowing my work has a direct relationship with ultimately making the lives of Australians better.

I work in a team to make sure that government financial statements and finances follow the Australian Auditing and Accounting regulations.

I love the variety of my work. If I haven’t mentioned it earlier, no day is the same! Whether it be the task I’m completing, the people I’ve met and spoken to or simply the Australian Government department audit I’ve been assigned for the period. There rarely is a boring day in the office!

Working at the ANAO means that you get exposed to a diverse range of programs and entities across the breadth of the Commonwealth public sector, so you have the opportunity to learn something new on every audit.

It was throughout university that I developed a liking for asset management and corporate finance, and after experiencing data analytics at the ANAO, my desire to learn data analysis was born.

I am a financial statements auditor in the Assurance Audit Services Group, currently assigned to the Home Affairs portfolio.

My time at the ANAO has given me exposure to many different areas of government across a variety of different audits.
